LVC, E-Town Set For CC Title Match

ANNVILLE, Pa. – For the fourth straight year, Lebanon Valley volleyball will appear in the Commonwealth Conference championship match. The Dutchmen travel to top seeded Elizabethtown Saturday at 3 p.m., looking for their third-straight conference title.

Admission for all Commonwealth Conference tournament games is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students. Children under the age of six are admitted free of charge.

Familiar Faces
LVC and Elizabethtown will meet in the Commonwealth Conference championship match for the fourth straight year. The winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The two teams have faced off in the conference playoffs four times in the past five years. The Dutchmen secured the title in 2009 with a 3-2 win over Elizabethtown, and recorded a straight set victory over the Blue Jays in 2008 for the program's first Commonwealth Conference championship. In 2007, Elizabethtown downed LVC in straight sets for the title. Earlier this season, the Blue Jays recorded a 3-1 win to claim the top seed in the conference playoffs.

The Dutchmen are making their 10th straight appearance in the Commonwealth Conference playoffs and fifth in the championship match … LVC's five seniors rank on several of the program's all-time list, most notably Joelle Snyder is first in attack percentage (.320), first in block assists (195), and second in kills (1495), while Emily Perkins is second in assists (3405) … Perkins ranks 11th nationally in assists per set … LVC ranks 10th in assists per set and 30th in kills per set nationally … As a team, the Dutchmen rank atop the conference in hitting percentage, assists and kills … Snyder leads the conference in hitting percentage, while Perkins holds the top spot in assists … The Dutchmen hit the 20 win plateau for the tenth straight season.

The Championship
Lebanon Valley and Elizabethtown are the only current Commonwealth Conference members to win the championship. Former member Juniata holds the other titles … The Dutchmen are fighting to become the first team in school history to win three straight conference championships … This marks LVC's fourth straight championship appearance and fifth overall, while Elizabethtown makes its fifth straight and seventh overall … Last season's match against the Blue Jays marked the first time since 2000 that the Commonwealth Conference championship went to five sets.

NCAA Selection
The winner of the title will get the Commonwealth Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The selections will be announced via a live streaming selection show on NCAA.com Monday at 11 a.m.
