GLENSIDE, Pa. – An early second half goal by Arcadia was enough to secure the victory over Lebanon Valley women's soccer Wednesday afternoon in a Commonwealth Conference playoff game. The second seeded Knights advance to the championship game and will face the winner of Messiah-Alvernia.
Arcadia dominated the first half, posting 11 shots to Lebanon Valley's four. Only two of the 11 shots were on goal and LVC keeper
Sami Young covered up both to keep the game scoreless. The Knights also held the advantage in corner kicks with six.
Janelle Jablonski put the Knights on the scoreboard at 56:51 with an assist to Sara Volk-Perez.
Lebanon Valley added five shots and three corner kicks in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net. Arcadia was held to four shots and four corner kicks in the final 45 minutes.
Nicole Snyder and
Lindi Crist led the team with two shots each.
Young finished with nine saves, one short of tying her season high.
