ANNVILLE, Pa. – Two second half goals propelled Lebanon Valley men's soccer to a 2-0 victory over Widener Saturday afternoon. With the win, LVC earned the #4 seed in the Commonwealth Conference playoffs. On Tuesday, the Dutchmen will travel to #1 Messiah with game time to be announced.
Lebanon Valley posted eight shots and three corner kicks in the first half, while Widener recorded four shots and a corner kick.
Widener's second yellow card of the game at 77:45 awarded Lebanon Valley a penalty kick which
George Andriko converted on for his first goal of the season.
Chris Hall registered his team-leading ninth goal of the season shortly after.
Kelly Hess set up the goal with a pass from the left side to a streaking Hall.
The Dutchmen added eight shots in the second half and three corner kicks. The Pride were limited to five shots in the final frame.
James Clements earned his fourth shutout of the year for LVC, making five saves. Jakub Valdner made seven saves in goal for Widener.
The Dutchmen finish the regular season with a 9-7-1 overall record and a 3-3-1 mark in Commonwealth Conference action.
