ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Lebanon Valley volleyball fell 3-1 to Elizabethtown in the regular season finale Wednesday evening, suffering its first conference loss of the season. Both teams finish with a 6-1 record in Commonwealth Conference play, but Elizabethtown holds the tie breaker after this evening's victory, giving them the No. 1 seed in the upcoming playoffs. The Dutchmen will host No. 3 seed Messiah at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3.
The Dutchmen (21-9, 6-1 CC) tallied 49 kills, led by 14 from
Emily Hopkins. Adding 12 kills each were
Joelle Snyder and
Megan Schoch, and
Emily Perkins totaled 41 assists to help pace the offense.
Elizabethtown (21-8, 6-1 CC) held LVC to a .116 hitting percentage as a team. Snyder recorded a team-high .278 hitting percentage for the match.
Recording 76 digs against the Blue Jays,
Angela Kuperavage led the team with 23 in the match. Perkins added 15 and
Jamie Hawk recorded 12 digs.
Serving, LVC registered three service aces; Jess Finalyson,
Sasha Birosik and
Stephanie Derk each recorded one.
Elizabethtown was exceptional defensively, tallying 16.5 blocks while LVC posted five total blocks.
Nicole Barra had LVC's only solo block.
