BOSTON, Mass. – LVC volleyball split the final two matches of the MIT quad Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen opened the day with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-10) win over Bates before falling to the host Engineers 0-3 (28-30, 24-26, 18-25) in the last contest of the day. Junior
Angela Kuperavage was named to the all-tournament team for her efforts.
Against Bates, senior
Joelle Snyder had a great match, posting seven service aces, three solo blocks and 10 kills. Senior
Emily Hopkins tallied nine kills and junior
Nicole Barra added eight to fuel the offense.
Senior
Emily Perkins anchored the defense with 12 digs and Kuperavage added eight. Perkins also aided the offense, totaling 31 assists.
Kuperavage continued her success in the match vs. MIT, claiming 18 digs. Junior
Jamie Hawk had eight digs and senior
Michelle Little added seven.
Junior
Nicole Barra led the offense with 14 kills, while Hawk had 12 kills and Perkins posted 37 assists against the Engineers.
The Dutchmen excelled in serving with six aces in the match, including two from freshman
Jess Finlayson.
On the defense side, LVC registered two solo blocks with one each for Hawk and Perkins.
The Dutchmen return to conference play on Tuesday when they travel to Aalvernia for a 7 p.m. game.
