Icers Shutout at Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. - Lebanon Valley College had trouble mounting offense on Saturday night against Manhattanville, sending only nine shots on goal. The Valiants, on the other hand, took 51 shots and found the back of the net on seven of them for a 7-0 win.

Rookie goaltender Matthew Turner had a busy opening period during his first career start, facing 17 shots from Manhattanville. The Sussex, England native stopped all of them, sending LVC into the first intermission with a scoreless tie.

In the second period, LVC allowed a power play goal by Niklas Berntsson at the 7:49 mark. Dillon O'Hara scored 1:19 later to extend the lead to 2-0. A.J. Mikkelsen then put the game out of reach with two goals, inlcuding an unassisted shorthanded goal with just under three minutes to play in the second.

In the third period, Manhattanville notched three goal, including two more on the power play.

Turner finished with 44 saves in the loss.
