ANNVILLE, Pa. - The last two teams to claim the Commonwealth Conference championship meet again Saturday night with the title on the line, as defending champion Lebanon Valley hosts 2007 winner Elizabethtown at 6 p.m. with an NCAA Tournament berth on the line.
Admission for all Commonwealth Conference tournament games is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students. Children under the age of six are admitted free of charge.
So We Meet Again
For the third straight year, LVC?and Elizabethtown meet with the Commonwealth Conference title at stake. This year's rubber match will award an automatic berth to the NCAA?Tournament to the winner; LVC?won in 2008, 3-0, and E-town won 3-0 in 2007. Last week, these two teams played a five-set classic, with LVC?erasing a 2-1 deficit to win 3-2 (16-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-19, 16-14). Noting the Championship
LVC?and Elizabethtown are the only current CC?members to win the title. Only former member Juniata has also won a conference crown ... LVC?is trying to become the school's first defending champions since men's basketball won two straight MAC?titles in 1993-94 and 1994-95 ... The only other LVC team to win back-to-back conference titles in field hockey, which did it in 1991 and 1992 ... This is LVC's third straight championship appearance and fifth overall ...
