Big Second Half Lifts #7 LVC By F&M

Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa. - #7 Lebanon Valley scored four second-half goals and rode some outstanding defense as it shut out Franklin & Marshall, 4-0, Monday night.

The Dutchmen (10-1) repelled a strong start by the Diplomats (6-4), who took 13 first-half shots to LVC's five.

However, LVC turned the tables in the second half, outshooting the Dips 8-2 and scoring on half those chances.

Jenni Walker picked an opportune time to score her first goal of the season, converting Allison Bicher's cross at 45:33 for what would hold up as the gamewinner.

Lebanon Valley got some breathing room five minutes later when Jocelyn Novak fired home a rebound to go up 2-0, and Nikki Bomberger scored from the arc off a penalty corner pass from Walker at 57:01.

Novak iced it at 62:03 with her second goal of the game, which put her at 99 career points. She and teammate Shelly Lobach, who has 98 career points, will both try to go for 100 at home against Haverford on Wednesday.

Caitlin Baro made six saves to earn the shutout. Naomi Stone made eight stops for the Dips.

F&M held a 15-13 shots edge overall, while LVC led 9-7 on corners. It was the first time this season LVC had been outshot by an opponent.
