Box Score
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Freshman
Ethan Groff and junior
Travis Steedle each scored their second goals of the season as Lebanon Valley College eased by Stevenson University, 2-0, at Herbert Field.
The Dutchmen (3-1) scored both goals early on and held the lead over the Mustangs (2-3). Stevenson University was formerly known as Villa Julie College. The game was pushed back two days due to rain from Tropical Storm Hanna.
The LVC offense picked apart the Mustang backline early on, making several runs, and Groff finished in the 15th minute when Steedle slid a pass across the box from the left.
Steedle added his goal three minutes later, heading the ball on goal from
Justin Hutchinson's settling feed.
Neither side gave up attacking, and LVC had another great chance five minutes before the half when
John Wagaman hit the post and
Tim Turley was unable to settle the rebound. Stevenson did likewise late in the second half when Sal Caltabiano rang the woodwork.
Senior goalkeeper
Tim Mehl earned his third shutout of the season, making four saves, including a spectacular reaction save of Michael Sherwood's shot in the 50th minute. Adam Wiatrowski stopped three in the loss.
LVC held a 13-11 edge on shots, and corners were even at four.
Lebanon Valley is right back home Wednesday to host DeSales University at 4 p.m.
