ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Lebanon Valley College volleyball team picked up a pair of wins Sunday in a home tri-match, beating Ramapo College and Penn State Harrisburg at the LVC Gymnasium.
The Dutchmen (5-1) beat Ramapo 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-12) in the day's opening match before taking out Penn State Harrisburg 3-1 (20-25, 25-7, 25-5, 25-12) in the nightcap. In the neutral match, Ramapo was a 3-1 (25-23, 17-25, 25-19, 25-8) winner over the Lady Lions.
The wins brought Head Coach
Wayne Perry a step closer to his 400th career win; he now sits at 394 for his career.
Against Ramapo, LVC was led by errorless hitting from
Joelle Snyder, who hit .636 with 14 kills in 22 attempts.
Michelle Little and
Emily Hopkins each added eight kills, and
Erin Yost served up 37 assists.
Brandi Roth led LVC defensively with eight digs and four aces.
Against Penn State Harrisburg, LVC dropped the first set using a young line-up, but roared back to dominate the remainder of the match. Hopkins posted 16 kills with just three errors, and
Angie Kuperavage had eight kills.
Emily Perkins did the setting duties and recorded 45 assists. Roth and
Christra Vrabel each had 10 digs, and Vrabel also had a match-high seven aces.
LVC will head to Dickinson College Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match.
