ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College won the Flying Dutchmen Tournament for the first time since 2004 with a perfect 4-0 weekend, beating Philadelphia Biblical University, 3-0, and Penn State Altoona, 3-0, on day two of the tournament.
The Dutchmen (10-1) have won eight in a row and have put Head Coach
Wayne Perry in position to go for his 400th career win Wednesday night against Albright College.
LVC's
Joelle Snyder and
Emily Hopkins were named the all-tournament team. Snyder racked up 41 kills and hit .393 in four matches for the weekend, while Hopkins had 39 kills with just six errors, with five aces and seven blocks.
Against PBU, Hopkins had her best match of the tournament, hitting 14 kills with two errors and two block assists. Snyder pitched in 10 kills, while
Brandi Roth came up with 18 digs and three aces.
Erin Yost was the setter, putting up 29 assists.
In the deciding match against Penn State Altoona, Hopkins again led in kills with 10, and Snyder posted nine along with Jess Raber's six.
Emily Perkinshad 29 assists, and Roth provided 10 digs.
