Box Score
HERSHEY, Pa. - Despite the scoreline, the Lebanon Valley College ice hockey team could certainly take some positives away from its 4-2 ECAC West loss to Utica College at Hersheypark Arena.
The Dutchmen (0-6-0, 0-2-0 ECACW) had lost to the Pioneers (2-1-1, 2-0-0 ECACW) 11-1 a week ago, but held their own as they were nearly even on shots, kept penalties down, and worked a solid penalty kill.
Utica led 25-23 on shots as
Aaron Miller made 21 saves. Justin Bolla stopped 21 for the Pioneers.
Meanwhile, Utica was 0-for-6 on the advantage while LVC was 2-for-6.
Tim Coffman and Mike Leone put the Pioneers on the board in the first period, and Coffman made it two when he tallied midway through the second.
TJ Schneider lit the lamp early in the third to go up 4-0, but the Dutchmen showed signs of life as
Anthony Longo took assists from
Brad Surdam and
Browning to score on the power play at 7:58.
It was then Surdam who converted
Corey Conte's pass at 12:43 to finish the scoring.
LVC will host Hobart College on Nov. 14.
