PURCHASE, N.Y. - Lebanon Valley College put a scare into Manhattanville, tying the game at 4-4 in the third period before the Valiants pulled away to win, 10-5, with four unanswered power-play goals Friday night.
The Dutchmen (0-9-0) scored three straight goals to erase a 4-1 lead, but the Valiants (2-2-0) responded with six third-period goals.
Anthony Longo finished with a goal and two assists, and Corey Conte and Brad Surdam each added a goal and an assist.
LVC took an early 1-0 lead on Corey Conte's power-play goal, but Manhattanville answered with scores by Mickey Lang and Tony Morrone. The Valients added two more in the second, first in Niclas Wennerlof's short-handed goal at 2:46 and then on Niklas Berntsson's goal at 14:49. Jeremy Browning cut it to 4-2 with a five-on-three goal with five seconds left in the period.
Nick Schultz made it 4-3 to start the third, and Surdam scored on a short-hander five minutes later to tie the game.
However, from there M'ville scored two goals in less than a minute to take control of the game, and after Longo's even-strength goal at 13:33, the Valients scored four unanswered power-play goals to finish the period.
Rich Drazin stopped 44 shots, while Steve Parry made just nine saves for M'ville.
LVC will visit Utica tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
