MADISON, N.J. - Lebanon Valley College won two matches Saturday to take the team championship of the Devils' Classic Tournament at FDU-Florham.
LVC (20-2) beat the hosts 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-18) before defeating Richard Stockton 3-1 (26-24, 25-16, 20-25, 25-23) in the championship. The wins assure LVC of its eighth-straight 20-win season under Head Coach
Wayne Perry.
Joelle Snyder led LVC with 39 kills in two matches, and all-tournament team member
Erin Yost put up 95 assists, including 52 in the championship match.
Against FDU, LVC breezed behind 19 kills from Snyder and
Emily Hopkins' 11 kills and four block assists.
Nicole Barra pitched in nine kills and
Brandi Roth had seven digs.
The championship against Stockton was a see-saw affair, with both teams playing well at the net. Snyder threw down 20 kills and Hopkins 17, while
Jess Raber tallied eight to go with three aces. Roth led defensively with 18 digs.
