Volleyball Clinches CC Regular-Season Title

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.
- Lebanon Valley College won the Commonwealth Conference regular-season title Wednesday, holding off Elizabethtown College 3-1 (25-20, 25-15, 21-25, 26-24).

The Dutchmen (29-2, 6-0 CC) clinched the #1 seed in the Commonwealth Conference playoffs and will host a semifinal next Wednesday night against Messiah College. LVC also tied the program record for most wins in a season, previously set in 2002, and extended their winning streak to 18 matches.

It is the first time in program history that the Dutchmen earned the conference's top seed.

LVC was led by big hitting at the front by Michelle Little, Joelle Snyder, and Emily Hopkins. Little had one of her best matches of the season, throwing down 15 kills while picking up 11 digs. Snyder added 14 kills, three aces, a solo block and four assist blocks, while Hopkins swing for 11 kills and three assist blocks.

Brandi Roth led defensively with 17 digs, and Erin Yost set up 44 assists and 16 digs.

After handily winning the first two sets, including hitting a blistering .394 in the second, LVC fell behind in the third as E-town won 25-21. The Dutchmen then won a barnburner in the fourth, 26-24, to secure the win and the conference's top seed.

LVC will head to Catholic University for a tri-match on Saturday with Marymount College.
