Box Score

HERSHEY, Pa.
- Utica College scored nine unanswered goals as it eased past Lebanon Valley College, 11-1, at GIANT Center on Wednesday.

The Dutchmen (0-3-0, 0-1-0 ECAC West) were outshot 36-21 in the game by the Pioneers (1-1-1, 1-0-0 ECAC West).

The Pioneers found themselves on the power play just 1:39 into the game on Kyle Stewardson's penalty, and Scott Wentworth capitalized with an easy one-timer from Mike Leone to go up a minute into the advantage.

Utica scored again moments later when 13's slap shot from inside the blue line deflected off Aaron Miller's pad and squirted behind him for a goal at 5:05 LVC pulled back to 2-1, however, during a 4-on-4 situation at 7:43. Michael Fransen picked the puck out of a scramble in front of net and poked it in for his first career goal, with assists courtesy of Richard Ernyey and Brad Surdam.

But the Pioneers took the momentum right back with two quick goals over the next three minutes, first on Jeff Pappalardi's power-play tally at 9:36 and then again with Matt Fitzgibbons' goal at 10:16.

That prompted a goalie change for LVC to Rich Drazin, but the Dutchmen conceded another power-play goal when Tim Coffman one-timed a shot from Dave Burkholder's swing-around at 15:28 to go up 5-1.

Utica then put the game out of reach in the third, scoring three goals thanks to two goals by Aaron Jeffery and a breakaway by Leone.

Jeffrey put the finishing touches on his hat trick with a goal 10:34 into the third, and Coffman did likewise with the last two goals of the game at 17:16 and 18:23.

Miller made five saves and Drazin stopped 20 for LVC. Anthony Luckow made 20 saves for Utica.

LVC will visit SUNY Geneseo Saturday at 7 p.m.
