GLENSIDE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College clinched a berth in the Commonwealth Conference playoffs Wednesday with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-17) win over Arcadia University.
The Dutchmen (24-2, 4-0 CC) pushed their win streak to 13 matches with their second win of the season over the Knights (8-13, 1-4 CC). They remained in a first-place tie with Elizabethtown College, a 3-2 winner over Widener University on Wednesday night.
Joelle Snyder powered the LVC attack with 11 kills and four aces, along with a solo and assist block.
Nicole Barra added nine kills, while
Michelle Little had a solid all-around match with six kills and 10 digs.
Erin Yost set the attack up with 24 assists in two sets, while
Emily Perkins had eight assists in the third.
Brandi Roth led the defense with 16 digs.
LVC ran out to a quick start and built a 15-9 lead. The Dutchmen then hit a run to lead 18-11 and ran away with a 25-15 first-set win.
Arcadia took a 4-3 lead in the second set but never led again as LVC went on a 4-0 run as it worked a 25-16 victory. Arcadia held it closer in the third, rallying to pull within two at 17-15, but LVC finished up on an 8-2 run to finish out the match.
LVC returns home Friday night to host Moravian College at 7 p.m. on Oktoberfest Weekend.
