ANNVILLE, Pa. - Misericordia University struck three times in the second half as it pulled away to defeat Lebanon Valley College, 4-1, Wednesday in men's soccer action at Herbert Field.
The Dutchmen (5-6-0, 1-0-0 CC) were a goal down in the second half before the Cougars (9-2-0, 1-0-0 Freedom) scored two late.
Cody Hack opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a blast from 20 yards out, and Joe DiGirolomo one-timed Max Campbell's cross three minutes into the second half to make it 2-0 Cougars.
LVC responded in the 69th minute with
Jordan Auman's second goal in as many games as he settled a rebound and scored from the top of the box.
The Cougars came back with two more, however, first when Cody Harman scored off a superb run from midfield in the 76th minute, and again when Tim Bullis headed on DiGirolomo's cross.
Tim Mehl stopped seven shots as MU peppered 15 shots; LVC scattered 14 shots but Andrew Loyd needed to make just five saves.
LVC will host Albright College on Saturday on Kid's Day starting at 3 p.m.
