Wilkes Hits OT Winner To Beat Women's Soccer, 1-0

EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. - For the second game in a row, the Lebanon Valley College women's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss. This time, it was Wilkes University that did the damage, scoring the overtime gamewinner to beat LVC Saturday.

The Dutchmen (0-3) have lost all three of their games this year by 1-0 scores. Wilkes (2-2) got the winner 5:36 into overtime from Julissa Reed.

Lebanon Valley also fell on a late winner on Wednesday, when Franklin & Marshall hit a goal with less than a minute left in the game.

LVC didn't manage to produce much offense, taking five shots. Wilkes took 11 shots, including a pair in overtime. Reed buried a pass from Ashley Deemie to finish the game.

Senior Kristen Hoover led the Dutchmen with two shots. Juniors Kristen Mauser and Jennifer DiMauro added the other two shots.

Junior goalkeeper Erika Ely once again played well despite taking the loss, making six saves in the losing effort. Counterpart Liz Pauly made a pair of stops. Both teams took four corners.

LVC will head to Gettysburg Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. game.
