SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The No. 7 Lebanon Valley College field hockey put on another offensive showcase Monday evening, routing Susquehanna University 5-1.
The Flying Dutchmen (7-0) remained undefeated as they took a whopping 32 shots. Senior Shauna Enck and freshman Shelly Lobach each scored a pair of goals. The Crusaders fell to 3-6.
LVC came roaring out of the gate, taking two shots in the first 40 seconds of the game. Senior Mimi Sullivan put LVC in front just 2:18 in when she scored off sophomore Avery Carter's pass. Enck added the first of her pair at 21:31 on junior Alex Wolfe's assist, then scored again in the 28th minute thanks to Sullivan's helper.
The Crusaders' Christine Ottley scored 20 minutes into the second half, but LVC responded with a pair of goals from Lobach. The freshman scored both unassisted, first at 64:53 and then again 23 seconds from time.
Sophomore Caitlin Baro made five saves, while counterpart Lyndsay Meabon had to stop 16. LVC held a wide 32-16 shots advantage, and a 9-8 edge in penalty corners. LVC outshot SU 17-5 in the first half.
Sullivan alone took 12 shots for LVC, while Enck added five.
LVC returns to action Saturday, heading to DeSales University for a 1 p.m. start.
