ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College and Moravian College each had chances, but ultimately battled to a 0-0 tie in a lightning-shortened women's soccer game Tuesday at Herbert Field.
The game was halted at 80:37 due to lightning in the area. Due to the persistance of the storm, the decision was made to not continue and the game was declared official.
The Flying Dutchmen (8-4-1) played some oustanding defense to hold off the Greyhounds (11-2-1). Junior goalkeeper Erika Ely turned in another solid outing, making six saves.
Moravian outshot LVC 9-4, including 4-2 in the shortened second half. The Greyhounds also held a 4-2 advantage on corners.
Caitlin Corrigan stopped two shots for Moravian.
The Dutchmen will head to the University of Scranton Thursday at 7 p.m.
