Field Hockey Improves to 3-0 After Win Over F&M


ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College field hockey team received four goals from four different players, and the Flying Dutchwomen won their third straight game to open the season, defeating Franklin & Marshall 4-0 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at the LVC Field Hockey Stadium.

Senior Claire Behney gave the Dutchwomen all the scoring they would need when, just 2:43 into the game, she punched in her first goal of the season. Junior Alyssa Stine gave the Valley a 2-0 lead heading into halftime with her first goal of the year 2:20 before the intermission.

Juniors Chelsea Byers and Mimi Sullivan provided the finishing touches with one goal apiece in the second half.

Senior Katie Pawlewicz made seven saves in goal to pick up her second shutout of the season for Lebanon Valley. Jennifer Burdo stopped six shots for F&M (0-3).

LVC out-shot the Diplomats 27-11.

Lebanon Valley takes 10 days off before visiting Gettysburg College on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 4 p.m. in another non-conference outing.
