JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Lebanon Valley College volleyball team saw its 2006 season come to an end Friday night, as the Flying Dutchmen dropped a 3-1 decision to Penn State Behrend in the quarterfinals of the ECAC Southern Region Tournament, hosted by New Jersey City University.
Lebanon Valley, which finished the season 21-11, captured the first game 30-27 but dropped the next three sets by scores of 30-21, 32-30, and 30-25.
Senior Natalie Goodfellow, who was named AVCA all-region honorable mention earlier this week, closed out her fabulous career with another outstanding match for the Valley. She notched 23 kills, 23 digs, and two aces and finished her career with school records for kills in a career (1,662) and season (617), setting both records as a senior this year.
Sophomore Margaret Prebula added 16 kills and three blocks for LVC while freshman Whitney Meyers had 15 kills and three blocks. Sophomore Erin Yost handed out 57 assists to go with 19 digs while sophomore Brandi Roth tallied 22 digs and a pair of aces. Junior Jess Kender contributed four aces.
