SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Junior Mimi Sullivan scored two goals while sophomore Alex Wolfe handed out three assists, leading No. 12 Lebanon Valley to a 6-1 Commonwealth Conference victory over Susquehanna University Saturday afternoon.
Lebanon Valley (10-1, 3-1 CC), which won its sixth straight game, received six goals from five different players. The Flying Dutchwomen never trailed after senior Steph Marguglio scored her team-leading 12th goal of the season just 2:25 into the game. The score remained 1-0 before junior Alyssa Stine punched in her second goal of the season with 6:25 to go in the half. Wolfe assisted on each of the Valley's first two goals.
Sullivan then scored her first goal of the day with 4:30 on the clock, giving her team a 3-0 halftime lead. Senior Mallary Anderson and Wolfe assisted on the goal.
Sullivan pushed the Valley's lead to 4-0 when she converted an unassisted goal, her sixth goal of the season, just 1:33 into the second half. Courtney Salsman put Susquehanna (3-9, 1-3 CC) on the scoreboard just over three minutes later, but the Dutchwomen put the game away midway through the period, as senior Claire Behney and junior Chelsea Byers scored unassisted goals 5:38 apart to set the final score.
Senior Katie Pawlewicz made three saves to pick up the win in goal for LVC while Lyndsay Meabon stopped 13 shots for Susquehanna.
Lebanon Valley resumes its schedule on Monday, when it visits Gwynedd-Mercy College at 4 p.m. in a non-conference outing.
