Leah McDermott enters her fifth season at the helm of the LVC women's soccer program in 2021.
McDermott and the Dutchmen amassed five wins in 2019, with Maya Cohen earning All-Conference honors.
In 2018, McDermott guided the Flying Dutchmen to eight wins on the season and another MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament appearance. She guided three players, Rileigh Jo Evitts, Serena Donmoyer, and Lea Dungan, to all-conference honors.
McDermott spent two seasons as the head coach of Lancaster Bible College's women's soccer team. McDermott guided the Chargers to a 16-7 record in 2016, including a 12-1 mark in conference action to advance to the Northeast Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship for the first time since 2012.
Prior to her time in Lancaster, the Ephrata, Pa. native spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Division I Bucknell University. Her main job with the Bison was recruiting and helping with practices and game planning.
McDermott was a four-year standout student-athlete for juggernaut Messiah College. She helped the Falcons win three NCAA Division III National Championships during her time in Grantham and scored 21 goals to go along with 14 assists during her 84 career games. In her collegiate career (2008-11), Messiah was an astonishing 96-1-4. She was named Second Team All Mid-Atlantic Region in 2010 and was the Commonwealth Conference Tournament MVP in that same year.
McDermott graduated from Messiah in May of 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sports management. She resides in Ephrata with her husband, Brian, and their son, Brock.
