Abbie Reed was named the MAC Freedom Women's Basketball Player of the Week after she led the Dutchmen to two wins with strong play on the offensive and defensive ends of the court, while playing all 80 minutes. She totaled 31 points, 10 rebounds, six steals, two assists, and two blocks while shooting 47.8 percent from the field, 54.5 percent on three-pointers, and made three of four free throws. The junior started the week with a career-high 19 points and seven rebounds in a big 63-50 victory over Stevens. Reed scored 10 points in the second half, including six in a decisive third quarter as the Dutchmen turned a one-point halftime deficit into an eight-point lead. Reed made four three-pointers in the game, including a dagger with 3:17 to play to end all hopes of a comeback. She had a strong defensive game guarding All-MAC Freedom First Teamer and Player of the Year candidate Leyla Castro, recording three steals and two blocks. The junior finished the week with 12 points, three rebounds, three steals, and one assist in a 45-32 defensive battle at Misericordia. The Dutchmen held the Cougars to just 22 points, including 14 in the second half, after being down 10-9 after the first quarter.
