Tyler Melhorn ’19 was named the Offensive Coordinator for the Lebanon Valley College football team before the start of the 2025 season, and he has been a Recruiting Coordinator for the program since 2023. He returned to LVC’s coaching staff in 2023, after previously serving as an Assistant Coach for two years.
Melhorn’s first stint as a coach for the Dutchmen came just a year after he graduated from LVC, joining the staff as an Offensive Intern and Wide Receivers Coach for two seasons. When he returned to the program, Melhorn worked with the team’s wide receivers from 2023 to 2025, while also serving as its Assistant Strength Coach during the 2023 and 2024 campaigns. He served in these roles during his second stint, in addition to his duties as Recruiting Coordinator.
Melhorn has coached 12 All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) offensive players since 2023, with multiple athletes earning repeat honors. He has also contributed to developing standout talent, including two-time All-MAC quarterback Braden Bohannon ’25. The quarterback graduated as LVC’s all-time leader in total yards with more than 7,000 and finished in the top five in scoring and total touchdowns. Melhorn has been instrumental in LVC’s recruiting efforts as well.
In 2023, Melhorn helped guide the team to finishing second in the conference in scoring offense with 27.9 points per game and fourth in total offense with 316.3 yards per game. This offensive production helped guide LVC to its first winning season in a decade. Against MAC opponents in 2024, the squad also finished fourth in the conference in total offense with 359.6 yards per game and fifth in scoring offense with 24.8 points per game. In his first season as the Offensive Coordinator in 2025, Melhorn helped lead the Dutchmen to ranking second in the MAC with averages of 367.1 offensive yards per game and 182.3 rushing yards per game.
Before coming back to The Valley in 2023, Melhorn coached the offensive line at Oberlin College in 2022.
Melhorn played three seasons at tight end for LVC. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2019.
