Sorrell Long ’24, D’26, became an Assistant Coach for the Lebanon Valley College field hockey team before the start of the 2025 season.
Long joined the program’s coaching staff after concluding a standout career as a midfielder for the Dutchmen. The three-time team captain recorded 51 points for LVC with 18 goals and 15 assists during four seasons. Long garnered several accolades for her production, earning All-Conference honors three times. In 2024, she was selected to the All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom First Team and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region IV Second Team after tallying 26 points with nine goals and eight assists.
Long also excelled in the classroom, being named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll in all five years she was a member of the team, including 2020 when the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, she was chosen to the NFHCA National Academic Squad four times and the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team twice. Long was selected to the inaugural Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM) Academic Honor Roll as well. She graduated from LVC in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Long is also currently in the graduate phase of pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy.
