Scott Reynolds has been Lebanon Valley’s Head Volleyball Coach since 2021.
In 2024, Reynolds guided the Dutchmen to a 15-13 overall record and an appearance in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Semifinals. Two players received All-MAC Freedom honors, while Taylor McInerney earned All-Region and All-America recognition for the second straight year.
In 2023, Reynolds led Lebanon Valley to a 17-12 overall record with a 6-1 conference mark and an appearance in the MAC Freedom Final during the program's first year in the conference. Outside hitter Taylor McInerney led the nation in points per set and kills per set while ranking second in kills. This prompted her to be named an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, an AVCA All-Region Four First Team honoree, the MAC Freedom Player of the Year, and an All-MAC Freedom First Team selection. Setter Robyn Stepler was also recognized as an All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention.
During the 2022 season, Reynolds guided his team to a 16-9 overall record and an appearance in the MAC Commonwealth Championship playoffs. Throughout the season, the program had stretches of dominance, posting both a five-match and a six-match winning streak. In addition to the team’s success, Lebanon Valley had two players who individually excelled and were selected to the All-MAC Commonwealth Team. Outside hitter Taylor McInerney was named to the First Team and setter Ali Whitworth was listed as an Honorable Mention.
Only the second coach in program history, Reynolds began his career with LVC in 2021, leading the team to 10 wins in his first season. Outside hitter Reily Shelly was named to the All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team for her impressive campaign.
With a large part of his coaching philosophy focused on being successful both on and off the court, the Dutchmen have also set a high academic standard during Reynolds' time at the helm. In his three-year tenure at LVC, 40 student-athletes have been named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll, eight players have been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, one player has been named the MAC Women's Volleyball Senior Scholar-Athlete, and two athletes have been named to the Fall Academic All-MAC Team. Additionally, one athlete has been named to the CSC Academic All-America First Team and one has been chosen as the CSC Academic All-America Team Member of the Year. The program has also earned the Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) three times, including two years from the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the AVCA.
Prior to his time at LVC, Reynolds had an already impressive volleyball resume with experience at the college level. While pursuing his education at California University of Pennsylvania, Reynolds worked as a Student Assistant Coach with the Vulcan’s women’s volleyball team from 1999 to 2001. In the 2000 season, the team made a run for the NCAA Division II title, winning the Atlantic Region and exiting as a national semifinalist. This was the program’s best finish in school history.
From 2011 to 2015, Reynolds spent four seasons as Head Coach at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa. During his time at Dickinson, Reynolds turned out three-all conference players.
In addition to his college coaching experience, Reynolds has spent time coaching at a variety of high-performance volleyball clubs. While living in Denver, Colo., from 2001 to 2004, Reynolds had the fortunate pleasure of coaching at Front Range Volleyball club. During his time with the club, he coached under the direction of national team technical advisor, Jim Miret, and in 2002 the club secured the 18’s Open national title. Reynolds also spent a brief time as a head coach for Fusion Volleyball Club in Camp Hill, Pa., for one season, which was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Scott has also spent time working locally as a part of several organizations. As the Head Coach of the Cumberland Valley boys’ volleyball team from 2006 to 2010, his program had a string of successes including being District III Champions in 2008, Mid-Penn League Champions from 2006 to 2010 and ultimately winning the 2008 PIAA State Volleyball 3A Championship. This was the first and only volleyball championship won by a boys’ team in the school’s history. Reynolds was named Mid-Penn Coach of the Year in both 2006 and 2010 and during his time at Cumberland Valley, the team had eight All-State selections.
Other notable volleyball experiences include being named as a Keystone Region Volleyball Association high performance evaluator. Reynolds holds various certifications, including an IMPACT USA Coaching Certificate, and Level I and II PDE Teaching certificates.
Scott is a graduate from California University of Pennsylvania where he holds both a Bachelor of Science in Education, as well as a master’s degree in Sports Management.
Scott is a resident of Mechanicsburg, Pa., where he lives with his wife Nichole and their two children, Teaguen and Avery, both of whom are avid volleyball players.
