Sam Pence became an Assistant Coach for Lebanon Valley before the start of the 2023-24 season. He is responsible for helping develop LVC’s pole vaulters.
Pence joined the staff for the Dutchmen after spending 10 years as a coach at his alma mater, Lower Dauphin High School. He coached many quality pole vaulters during his time with the team. When Pence was in high school, he competed for both the track & field and football teams.
Pence was also an Army Reservist and was deployed to Afghanistan with the 333rd Company, before finishing his career in the Army with the 382nd Company. Additionally, Pence attended the Baltimore School of Massage, and he took a personal training course with the Keystone Technical Institute. He has a personal training certificate through the American Sports and Fitness Association as well.
