Leeca Baran ’16 became an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lebanon Valley College in January 2026.
Baran is an Athletic Trainer for LVC’s men’s and women’s tennis teams. She also assists other Flying Dutchmen teams as needed.
Baran returned to her alma mater to join the Athletic Training staff with seven years of experience. Before coming back to Annville, she was an Industrial Athletic Trainer who served America’s workforce across several different career settings. Most recently, she spent four years in Memphis, Tenn.
Baran had the opportunity to work with construction workers in Memphis, where she helped set up an injury prevention and health and wellness program. Before this, she served as an Athletic Trainer and On-Site Lead for an international logistics company in Memphis, where she worked with aircraft maintenance technicians. Baran led the charge of setting up an injury prevention and health and wellness program for the aircraft maintenance technicians across one of the world’s busiest freight airports. She also led several ergonomic projects and initiatives on-site to develop root cause analysis and prevent injuries. She assisted her industrial athletes with chronic and acute injuries and helped them perform their physically demanding jobs pain-free.
Baran began her career in Pennsylvania, working as an Industrial Athletic Trainer in warehousing, distribution centers (DCs), logistics, and manufacturing. During her time at the DC, she collaborated with the team to improve injury prevention measures and communication. These efforts contributed to the DC winning Safest Distribution Center of the Year in 2020 amongst 10 other DCs in the company. While working in logistics, she assisted in developing a new-hire orientation training circuit where new employees were taught proper lifting techniques and biomechanics prior to starting on the floor. This significantly reduced the injuries of new hires.
Baran is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) in Pennsylvania, and she has been a member of the National Athletic Training Association since 2018. She also holds a Mental Health First Aid Certification and a STOP THE BLEED Certification. Additionally, Baran earned an Advanced Occupational Ergonomics Certificate from Colorado State University, and she holds an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-Hour Training Certification.
