Lebanon Valley College Athletics

Dr. Ariana Horner Sutherland joined the Lebanon Valley College women’s volleyball team as an Assistant Coach in 2026. She is also an Assistant Professor of Music in Voice at LVC, where she teaches applied voice and works with undergraduate singers. 

Originally from Nome, Alaska, Horner Sutherland attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education and played Division II collegiate volleyball as an outside/opposite hitter. During her doctoral studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, she continued playing through a beach volleyball club.  

On the court, she brings a collaborative, energetic approach to coaching and especially enjoys the team environment, competitive spirit, and high energy of volleyball. Horner Sutherland’s favorite part of coaching is seeing her team around campus as she teaches throughout the week. As a professional soprano and educator, Horner Sutherland has performed and taught throughout the United States.
