Angie Nelson

Angie (Brewer) Nelson became an Assistant Coach with Lebanon Valley in 2022, and she was named the first full-time Assistant Coach in program history in May 2025. 
 
Before joining the coaching staff for the Dutchmen, Nelson was the Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach for Friends School of Baltimore from 2013 to 2021. She also spent two years coaching at her alma mater, working as an Assistant Coach for Towson University in 2011 and 2012. During her time as a student-athlete at Towson, Nelson spent the summers coaching for her high school club team, East Coast Field Hockey. Additionally, she coached at the club level for the Hymax Club Team from 2015 to 2021, and she coached for the Alley Cats Club Team in 2019 and 2022. Nelson currently coaches PA United in Palmyra, Pa., a role she has served in since 2024. 
 
Nelson has also had a very successful playing career, as she currently competes for the USA Master's Indoor Squad after trying out for the team in the spring of 2023. She also played for Towson’s field hockey team from 2006 to 2010, and she holds the program record for the most penalty strokes in a career with five. Prior to playing collegiately, Nelson attended Annville-Cleona High School and competed for its field hockey team from 2002 to 2006. She also has experience playing competitively in several different countries, including the United States, Canada, Guyana, Malaysia, Spain, South Africa, Argentina, and Peru. 
 
As a student at Towson, Nelson earned a bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Deaf Studies. She also earned a master’s in Teaching English as a Second Language, from Notre Dame College of Maryland. Additionally, Nelson has several certifications such as a Level II Hockey Coaching Certification, a Pennsylvania Elementary Teaching Certification, and a Maryland Elementary Teaching Certification.
