Former Lebanon Valley College Field Hockey standout Amber Corcoran '09, M'24, has been the Head Coach of the program since 2016. In addition to her coaching duties, her secondary assignment is developing program evaluations and data analysis.
In 2024, Corcoran guided Lebanon Valley to a 15-4 overall record, marking its best record during her tenure. She led the program to its second straight postseason appearance, while the team received six All-MAC Freedom honors and three All-Region selections. LVC's National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region IV Team honorees were Ella Weidenhammer (First Team), Claire Weidenhammer (First Team), and Sorrell Long (Second Team). Ella was also named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year for her efforts as a goalkeeper.
In 2023, Corcoran led the Dutchmen to a 12-7 overall record with a 5-2 conference mark and an appearance in the MAC Freedom Semifinal during the program's first year in the conference. The team was recognized with four All-MAC Freedom honorees, as Lexi Ward and Emily Kline were named to the First Team, Long was chosen to the Second Team, and Gracie Johnson was listed as an Honorable Mention.
In 2022, Corcoran guided Lebanon Valley to seven victories. The program had three players named to the All-MAC Commonwealth Team for their impressive seasons, as Kline was selected to the First Team, and Johnson and Long were listed on the Second Team.
Corcoran led the Dutchmen to nine wins, including a 5-3 conference mark in 2021 after the 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19. The Dutchmen qualified for the MAC Commonwealth Tournament and had three All-Conference players. She guided LVC to 13 victories in 2019, and the Flying Dutchmen made a return to the MAC Commonwealth Championship game for the first time since 2010. LVC then earned the right to host the ECAC Tournament, where the Dutchmen were edged in the championship by Shenandoah in overtime. For her outstanding efforts, Corcoran was named the 2019 Conference Coach of the Year.
Corcoran also coached several All-Conference players, led by Cecile Kat, who was named the MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Kat went on to earn NFHCA All-Region honors, followed by an All-American nod. Additionally, Alida Steenkamer earned NFHCA All-Region honors and First Team All-MACC accolades, while Taylor Pentz, Ashlee Sheibley, Danielle Alba, and Nikki Willi landed on the All-MACC Second Team.
In 2018, LVC posted a 9-10 overall record and earned a trip to the MAC Commonwealth Tournament Semifinal round. Kat was named the Conference's Co-Player of the Year, and additionally, Tasia Dennis, Steenkamer, and Tori ByDeLey earned All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team recognition. Kat was also named to the NFHCA's All-Regional Team.
In 2017, the Flying Dutchmen saw five players in Maddie Fox, Casey Dombroski, Rachel Gorman, ByDeLey, and Kat earn MAC Commonwealth Second Team All-Conference honors. Under Corcoran's tutelage, Fox became the 19th player in program history to be selected to the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III All-Star Game.
In her first season as LVC Head Coach, Corcoran led the Dutchmen to double-digit victories, including a thrilling win over No. 9 William Smith, and the semifinal round of the 2016 MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament. Fox and Gorman were pegged First Team All-Conference, while teammate Megan Arnst was named to the All-Conference Second Team. Dennis earned an All-Conference Honorable Mention nod for her efforts. Fox was also named NFHCA All-Region under Corcoran's guidance.
Corcoran returned to Annville off a stint as Head Coach at Stevens Institute of Technology. In 2015, she led the Ducks to an Empire 8 Conference Championship and an NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance in her first year at the helm of the program.
Prior to her time at Stevens, Corcoran was the Head Coach at Immaculata for four seasons and led the Mighty Macs to three Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoff berths. She was named the 2011 CSAC Field Hockey Coach of the Year.
Corcoran also works with field hockey clubs, serving as a Coach for PA United since November 2024. She has also previously coached Horizon FHC and The Nook. In these positions, she has worked with athletes from the ages of 8-18 in preparation for higher levels of competition. Her teams competed at a number of well-known events, including the 2015 National Indoor Field Hockey Tournament, the 2013 National Field Hockey Festival, and the 2013 Disney Showcase.
As a player at LVC, Corcoran helped lead the Flying Dutchmen to a pair of NCAA Tournament Final Four appearances and a 2006 MAC Commonwealth Championship before earning a number of individual awards throughout the rest of her career. She was named an NFHCA Third Team All-American in 2008, and earned the organization's First Team All-Region honor after being named to the MAC Commonwealth All-Conference First Team. She was a Second Team All-Conference honoree in 2007 and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team that fall.
Corcoran earned her bachelor's in Biology with a minor in Sociology from LVC in 2009. She also received her MBA with a concentration in Leadership and Ethics from Lebanon Valley in 2024. Additionally, Corcoran is currently working toward a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the College.
