Former Lebanon Valley Field Hockey standout Amber Corcoran '09, M’24 has been the Head Coach of the program since 2016. In addition to her coaching duties, her secondary assignment is developing program evaluations and data analysis.
During Corcoran’s 15-year tenure as a Head Coach, she has guided Immaculata University, Stevens Institute of Technology, and LVC to a 129-137 overall record and 11 postseason appearances. She has led these teams to one conference title, two conference final appearances, and one NCAA Tournament appearance. Corcoran has also coached one National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American (Cecile Kat ’20, M’21), 11 NFHCA Division III All-Region selections, and 62 All-Conference honorees.
In Corcoran’s 10 seasons at the helm of the Dutchmen, she holds a 93-76 overall record. She has led Lebanon Valley to the postseason seven times, including trips to the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Championship final and the title game of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship in 2019. Along with the one All-America selection, LVC has received nine All-Region honors (Kat twice, Maddie Fox ’18, D’20, Alida Steenkamer ’20, D’22, Sorrell Long ’24, D’26, Claire Weidenhammer ’27 twice, Ella Weidenhammer ’28, and Amelia Taube ’26), and 40 All-Conference selections during Corcoran’s time as the Head Coach. Additionally, she has coached three conference Offensive Players of the Year (Kat twice and Claire Weidenhammer) and one MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year (Ella Weidenhammer) at The Valley.
Kat is one of just 11 Lebanon Valley players to score over 100 points in their career, recording 52 goals and 14 assists for 118 points. Steenkamer also finished her career with 26 career defensive saves, setting LVC’s program record.
Corcoran returned to Annville after a stint as the Head Coach at Stevens. In 2015, she led the Ducks to an Empire 8 Conference Championship and an NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance in her one year at the helm of the program. At Stevens, Corcoran worked with three All-Conference players and two NFHCA All-Region selections.
Prior to her time at Stevens, Corcoran was the Head Coach at Immaculata for four seasons and led the Mighty Macs to three Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoff berths. She was named the 2011 CSAC Field Hockey Coach of the Year. During Corcoran’s tenure, Ashley O’Donnell was also chosen as the CSAC Rookie of the Year in 2011, and Immaculata was presented with 19 All-Conference accolades.
As a collegiate Head Coach, Corcoran has helped student-athletes excel in the classroom as well. During her career, 12 teams have received NFHCA National Academic Team Awards, 176 student-athletes have been named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad, and 28 players have been chosen as NFHCA Scholars of Distinction. At Lebanon Valley, the program has been presented with seven NFHCA National Academic Team Awards and 117 NFHCA National Academic Squad honors, while 24 players have been named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction. Six members of the Dutchmen have also been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team, and three have received Academic All-MAC accolades. Additionally, 140 LVC players have been named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll, and six have been recognized on the Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM) Academic Honor Roll.
Corcoran also works with field hockey clubs, as she has served as a Coach for PA United since November 2024. She previously coached Horizon FHC and The Nook as well. In these positions, she has worked with athletes from the ages of eight to 18 in preparation for higher levels of competition. Her teams competed at a number of well-known events, including the 2015 National Indoor Field Hockey Tournament, the 2013 National Field Hockey Festival, and the 2013 Disney Showcase.
As a player at LVC, Corcoran helped lead the Flying Dutchmen to a pair of NCAA Tournament Final Four appearances and a 2006 MAC Commonwealth Championship before earning a number of individual awards throughout the rest of her career. She was named an NFHCA Third Team All-American in 2008 and received the organization's First Team All-Region honor after being listed on the MAC Commonwealth All-Conference First Team. She was a Second Team All-Conference honoree in 2007 and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team that fall.
Corcoran earned her bachelor's in Biology with a minor in Sociology from LVC in 2009. She also received her MBA with a concentration in Leadership and Ethics from Lebanon Valley in 2024. Additionally, Corcoran is currently working toward a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the College.
