Biography

The LVC Softball Park, named the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association Regional Field of the Year in 2000 and 2001, has served as the home to LVC softball since 1999.

An eight-time host of the Commonwealth Conference Championship Tournament, LVC Softball Park is one of Division III’s premier facilities. It sports a curved brick grandstand, covered dugouts, and a fully-enclosed field that features brick piers along the outfield fence. The playing surface is surrounded by a crushed red-stone warning track. Fans enjoy an elevated view as the grandstand rises behind home plate, and there is room down the lines and in the outfield for additional spectator seating.

The field has held the conference championship tournament eight times, in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2013, and LVC has advanced to the championship game six times in that span, winning in 2008 and 2013. The Dutchmen were undefeated at home in 2013, going a perfect 15-0.

The LVC Softball Park has also drawn rave reviews as a high school venue. In 2009, the stadium hosted two PIAA state semifinals after having several rounds of the PIAA District 3 softball playoffs, including the class A, AAA, and AAAA championship games. The stadium has continued to be a regular venue for the PIAA tournament, including the 2010 District 3 A and AAA title games and the 2012 D-3 AAA final.
