Stone and De Falcis Earn Conference Weekly Awards

3/31/2026 11:01:00 AM

NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College women's tennis and men's outdoor track and field teams garnered recognition on Tuesday, March 31, as the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) office announced in a release that a student-athlete from each program earned a weekly award.

Junior Catherine Stone was honored for her contributions to a two-win week for the Lebanon Valley College women's tennis team, as she received the MAC Freedom Player of the Week award. Graduate student Michael De Falcis was also named the MAC Field Athlete of the Week, following his strong performance for LVC's men's outdoor track and field team at the Blue & White Open.

Stone went 5-0 during the week to maintain an undefeated 11-0 record in dual singles play for Dutchmen Women's Tennis this season. She recorded her fourth "double bagel" (6-0, 6-0) of the year in a 7-0 MAC Freedom win over King's College on Saturday, March 28. The junior also contributed to a doubles victory during the 7-0 conference win over FDU-Florham on Saturday. This marks the first time Stone has been chosen as the MAC Freedom Player of the Week in her career. The Flying Dutchmen have now received five consecutive conference weekly awards, as sophomore Katie Berra has been recognized twice, while senior Nikki Denbowski, sophomore Laken Kelly, and Stone have each earned the honor once since Tuesday, March 3. Additionally, LVC has collected eight weekly awards from the MAC Freedom during the campaign.

De Falcis won the javelin at the Blue & White Open with a season-best toss of 60.08 meters on Saturday. His throw leads the Mid-Atlantic Region and ranks 13th in the nation. This is the first MAC Field Athlete of the Week award De Falcis has been presented with during his career for Lebanon Valley's men's outdoor track and field team. The Dutchmen have received two conference weekly honors so far this spring, as graduate student Aonghas Evanick was selected as the MAC Field Athlete of the Week last week, on Tuesday, March 24.
