Caitlin Quinn on the flag football field

LVC Names First Women’s Flag Football Head Coach

10/22/2026 10:00:00 AM

ANNVILLE, Pa.—Caitlin Quinn will be the inaugural Head Coach of the Lebanon Valley College women's flag football team, as announced by LVC Athletics Director Pat Ratke on Thursday, Oct. 22.
Quinn, who hails from Lansdale, Pa., will draw from her collegiate flag football career at Milligan University and several years of playing and coaching club with Athena Athletics as the Flying Dutchmen launch its women's flag football team in Spring 2029. Quinn will start her tenure at The Valley on November 2.

"Caitlin brings a strong foundation of collegiate playing experience and valuable club-level experience in our backyard that will be instrumental in building our program from the ground up," said Ratke. "Her knowledge of the game, competitive drive, and passion for developing student-athletes make her an excellent fit to lead this exciting new chapter in LVC Athletics. We look forward to seeing her establish a strong foundation for our program and create opportunities for our student-athletes to compete, grow, and succeed."

At Milligan, Quinn played four years on the women's flag football team that grew into a powerhouse in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). She ranked among the team's top receivers, amassing 788 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. The Buffs amassed an overall record of 44-5 during the 2025 and 2026 seasons and advanced to the NAIA championship game in 2025.

"I'm incredibly honored and excited to be named the inaugural head coach," said Quinn. "My experiences as a player and in helping develop athletes have strengthened my passion for growing the game and creating opportunities for the next generation of student-athletes. I'm excited to bring that passion to LVC and build a program that reflects the pride, dedication, and competitive spirit of the college community and ultimately preparing these athletes for life after college."

Quinn's flag football success dates back to her high school days at Lansdale Catholic outside of Philadelphia, Pa. She was named co-MVP and led her team to the championship of the inaugural season of the Eagles Girls Flag Football League of Philadelphia, hosted by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Before high school, Quinn played flag football boys from about the age of five through eighth grade when her parents launched Athena Athletics, the largest all-girls' flag football program in the Philadelphia area. Quinn and her three sisters played for Athena and then approached Lansdale Catholic about starting an independent girls' flag football team. Quinn helped to coach her younger sisters with Athena as the club has grown to more than 500 girls since starting with just eight in 2019.

Thanks to the success of Athena Athletics and similar clubs, the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association sanctioned girls flag football as a high school sport in 2024. Approximately 170 high schools in the state have a team that will compete during the 2026–2027 season, giving Quinn a strong network to start her recruiting.

Quinn said, "I look forward to building something special at LVC and shaping our program into one that everyone will be talking about many years from now."
