HOBOKEN, N.J. – Emily Beard ended her collegiate career with four points on three goals and one assist as the second-seeded Lebanon Valley Women's Lacrosse team dropped a hard-fought 19-5 decision at top-seeded and 18th-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Final.

The Dutchmen (13-6) see their season come to an end in the MAC Freedom Championship game for the season consecutive year after an excellent season. The Ducks (15-4) used big second and third quarters to pull away from the Dutchmen as they outscored LVC 12-0 over the middle two periods.

Stevens got on the board first scoring on the first possession of the game to take the early lead. The Dutchmen had an opportunity to even the score a couple minutes later, but Bethany Cohee had her free position shot saved. Alyssa Wene found Beard open with 9:40 on the clock to even the score up as the attacker scored her first goal of the game and 73rd of the season. Less than a minute later, Beard put the Dutchmen up 2-1 with a free position goal. Stevens answered at the other end of the field as they scored a free position goal to tie the game back up at two with just over eight minutes on the clock. The teams battled up and down the field over the next five minutes with neither team able to score. Gigi Ditsky made three big saves to keep the game tied. The Ducks were able to score twice in the final two minutes of the quarter to take a 4-2 lead.

LVC began the second quarter with a woman-advantage after a late card to Stevens in the first quarter. The Ducks were able to hold the Dutchmen without a shot during the advantage. Stevens scored six times in a span of five minutes to increase the lead to 10-2 with five minutes left in the half. The Dutchmen settled down and Ditsky made a pair of saves over the final two minutes of the half to keep the deficit to eight heading into the break. The Ducks came out of the break strong and scored three times in the first four minutes to increase the advantage to 13-2. They scored three more times in the quarter while holding LVC off the scoreboard to take a 14-goal lead. The Stevens defense did a great job limiting the Dutchmen to just two shots over the second and third quarters as they pulled away.

The Dutchmen fought back valiantly and started the fourth quarter strong as Hannah Schneider won the opening draw control and less than a minute later Molly Whisler scored her 40th goal of the year off an assist by Beard. Wene had a shot go wide before the senior scored her 60th goal of the season on a free position shot.
