DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Emily Beard had a career-high 10 points on eight goals and two assists to lead the Lebanon Valley women's lacrosse team to a dominating 20-7 road victory over Delaware Valley University on Saturday afternoon in Doylestown.
The Dutchmen (8-5, 3-0 MAC Freedom) stayed unbeaten in conference play by getting out to a big first quarter lead.
Erin Zieber scored twice in the first 2:01 of the game to put the Dutchmen up. After winning the opening draw control, Zieber scored 47 seconds into the game off an assist by
Bethany Cohee. She added to the lead with an unassisted goal right around the two-minute mark. The Aggies settled down and held the Dutchmen off the scoreboard until
Hana Neff found the back of the net off an assist from
Elizabeth Morgan with 7:12 to play in the opening quarter. Morgan then found Beard across the middle for her first goal of the game nearly a minute later to make it 4-0. DVU got on the board with their first goal of the game with just under four minutes to go but LVC responded with four goals in the final three minutes. Wene won the opening draw of the third quarter and then Zieber gave the Dutchmen back a 10-goal lead with a free position goal.
