NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country (USTFCCCA) announced that Lebanon Valley sophomore
Liam Allen has been chosen as the M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week for Division III Men's Cross Country.
National Athlete of the Week is an award selected and presented by the USTFCCCA Communications Staff at the beginning of each week to 14 collegiate cross country athletes, when applicable (male and female for each of the three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and the NJCAA).
Allen clocked an 8,000-meter PR on his home course, covering the tract in 26:46.3 – more than 16 seconds faster than teammate
Alec Di Cesare, who finished second in the field of 83. It was the first win of Allen's collegiate career and his first time sub-27 minutes for the championship distance.
This is the first time in program history that a male athlete from Lebanon Valley has been named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week during the cross country season.
