NEWTOWN, Pa. – Lebanon Valley College Men's Cross Country runner Liam Allen garnered recognition from the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) after a strong performance at the Last Chance Run Fast Invitational, as it was announced in a release on Monday that the sophomore was selected as the MAC Men's Runner of the Week.
Allen ran a career-best 8,000-meter time of 26:46.3 to win the Last Chance Run Fast Invitational on Friday and lead the Dutchmen to their second home invitational title of the year with another dominating performance placing six in the top 10. LVC scored 27 points to defeat second-place and Division I Mount St. Mary's who finished with 68 points.
This is Allen's first career weekly award from the MAC. The honor also marks the second straight week the Dutchmen have been recognized by the conference, and it is the fourth time the program has received an award this season. Sophomore Rory Lieberman earned the other three honors, as he was chosen as the MAC Men's Runner of the Week on Sept. 9, Oct. 7, and Oct. 21.
Lebanon Valley will return to action at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, as the team will travel to compete in the MAC Championships at the Messiah Cross Country Course in Grantham, Pennsylvania.
