Women’s Tennis Dominates in Sweeps of Catholic and Trinity Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Lebanon Valley women's tennis team earned a pair of 9-0 victories in Washington D.C. on Saturday with a sweep of Catholic University in the morning and a sweep of Trinity Washington University in the afternoon.
 
The Dutchmen used different lineups in the two matches with only three student-athletes playing singles in both matches and three student-athletes playing doubles in both matches with different partners in each match.
 
Inside the Box (Catholic)
  • Jacquelyn McBride and Sarah McComas were 8-1 winners at number one doubles.
  • Nicole Honrade and Sarah Kramer teamed up for an 8-2 win at number two doubles.
  • Eliana Shenk and Abbey DeLisio won 8-2 at number three doubles.
  • McBride, Honrade, McComas, and Megan Martin won their singles matches in straight sets. McBride won 6-0-62 at number one, Honrade was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at number two, McComas won 6-2, 6-3 at number three, and Martin was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at number six.
  • Kramer won her number four singles match 6-1, 1-6, 10-8.
  • Shenk was a 6-2, 0-6, 10-3 winner at number five.
 
Inside the Box (Trinity Washington)
  • The Dutchmen dropped just two points in their second match of the day.
  • McBride and Martin won 8-0 at number one doubles. Honrade and Jenna Miner were an 8-0 winner at number two doubles. Shenk and Gigi Guay won at number three doubles 8-0.
  • McComas played number one singles and won 6-0, 6-0.
  • Kramer won her number two singles match 6-0, 6-0.
  • Martin was also a 6-0, 6-0 winner at number three singles.
  • Miner played number four singles and won 6-1, 6-0.
  • DeLisio was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at number five singles.
  • Guay won her number six singles match 6-1, 6-0.
 
Up Next
LVC will be off during the week and will be back in action next Saturday September 23 with a 1 p.m. first serve at Susquehanna University.
