8/1/2023 10:20:00 AM

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley cross country teams will race five times this fall before competing at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships. The schedule features two home meets, six meets in Pennsylvania, and one in New Jersey.

The Dutchmen season will begin on September 1 with the first of two trips this year to Northeast Pennsylvania and Misericordia University. LVC will catch a glimpse of the conference championship course this year as they compete at the Misericordia Invitational. The men and the women will only run a 4K at the first meet of the season but will still be able to preview the entire course at the site of this year's MAC Championships.

A week later the Dutchmen will host the 50th Annual Dutchmen Invitational at Union Canal Tunnel Park in Lebanon. The meet, which includes high school races, is the first of two home meets for the Dutchmen this year. This is the 12th year LVC has used UCTP as their home course. The squads will two weeks off from racing before competing at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on September 30.

The Dutchmen will head to New Jersey on October 14 for the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted by Rowan University at Gloucester Country Dream Park. The meet will be the second big test in a row against what is expected to be a large and strong field. LVC will finish off the regular season with the Last Chance Run Fast Invitational at Union Canal Tunnel Park. The second home meet serves as a low-key meet for runners to run fast times and put in final preparations before the MAC Championships.

The Championship portion of the schedule begins on October 28 with the MAC Championships. This year the meet is being hosted by Misericordia at Letterkenny Fields in Dallas, a couple miles away from the campus of MU. The squads will have two weeks after the conference championship to prepare for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships to be held on November 11. The Regional is back at the West Branch Course on the campus of Lock Haven University for the second consecutive year with Susquehanna University serving as the host school. LVC will hope to qualify runners for the NCAA National Championships which will take place a week later at Big Spring High School in Newville.
