Women’s Tennis Earns Huge Win at York

YORK, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's tennis team took down host York College of Pennsylvania 5-4 on Saturday in a battle of the top two teams in the conference over the last two years.
 
LVC (10-3, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth) won a closely contested contest with the Spartans starting with two wins in doubles. The Dutchmen then won three of the six singles matches with all but one going three sets. York (7-5, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth) won at number two doubles and at number one, number five, and number three singles. All three singles wins for the Spartans needed a tiebreaker.
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Madison Poladian and Eliana Shenk earned the biggest victory of the day with an 8-0 win at number three doubles.
  • Nicole Honrade and Sarah Kramer gave the Dutchmen a 2-1 lead with an 8-5 victory at number one doubles.
  • Kramer then won her number two singles match 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 for her eighth dual win of the year and fifth straight.
  • Livia Jackson had the only two-setter in singles play with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at number three.
  • Meredith Haas won her number four singles match 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 for her fifth consecutive win.
  • LVC has now won the last three matches against York including a 5-3 win in the MAC Commonwealth Championship last spring.

The Dutchmen will play their first home conference match on Tuesday when they host Alvernia University starting at 3:30 p.m.
