ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's tennis team will play in their third consecutive Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Championship match after defeating Messiah University 5-0 on Wednesday afternoon in the semifinals of the MAC Commonwealth Tournament at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
The top-seeded Dutchmen (15-3) earned their 16th consecutive win on their home courts after waiting out an hour weather delay. LVC swept doubles in 55 minutes to build a 3-0 lead. They received quick wins on court one and court five to clinch the match victory as the other four singles matches went unfinished with the victory decided.
Inside the Box Score
- Nicole Honrade and Sarah Kramer won their sixth straight match with a dominating 8-0 victory at number one doubles to give LVC the early lead.
- Livia Jackson and Meredith Haas got off to a great start and then held off a late rally at number two with an 8-5 victory to avenge their loss to the Falcons in the regular season.
- Madison Poladian and Eliana Shenk rallied after a slow start to take an 8-7 (7-3) victory at number three to sweep doubles. The duo dropped the first two points in the tiebreaker and then went on a 7-1 run to earn the victory.
- Honrade put the Dutchmen on the brink of winning with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number one singles for her fifth straight win.
- Shenk ended the match with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number five for her fifth consecutive victory.
- Haas won her first set 6-2 and was leading 2-1 in the second set at number four.
- Poladian was leading 6-5 in the first set.
- Jackson was still in the first set and led 3-2.
- Kramer dropped her first set 6-3 and was tied 1-1 in the second set.

LVC will have to wait until tomorrow to find out who they will play in the Championship as the other semifinal match between York College of Pennsylvania and Alvernia University was postponed. The Championship match is scheduled for Saturday. A time will be announced later in the week.
