ANNVILLE, Pa. –
Sarah Kramer and
Eliana Shenk each won their singles matches for the Lebanon Valley College women's tennis squad on Monday in a tough 6-3 defeat to Ursinus College at the Shankroff Tennis Center in Annville.
The visiting Bear (5-2) won two of the three doubles matches and then took four of the six singles matches. LVC (3-4) won at number one doubles, number five singles, and number six singles.
Inside the Box Score
- Nicole Honrade and Jacquelyn McBride won their doubles match 8-7 (7-5) to give the Dutchmen a point. The duo are 9-1 this year in dual matches.
- Kramer won her fifth singles match 6-2, 6-4 to improve to 1-1 this year. The first year teamed with Meredith Haas to drop a close 8-5 decision at number two doubles.
- Shenk won her match 6-2, 6-2 to improve to 2-0 this spring and 5-2 in dual matches this year.
- Honrade dropped an extremely close match at number two singles as both sets went to the tiebreaker. Maddie Russell won by scores of 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (8-6)
Who's Next
Lebanon Valley is scheduled to return to the courts on Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. first serve at Gettysburg College. They will be back at Shankroff on Saturday hosting King's College.
