LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Jordan Berger finished 16th overall with a career best 8,000-meter time to lead the Lebanon Valley College men's cross country team at the Inter-Regional Border Battle in Logan Township on Saturday.
"This was a solid day for us," head coach James O'Brien had to say about the races. "We beat two teams that are ranked ahead of us in our region and tied a very good Misericordia team. If we can tighten up a few things over the next few weeks I think we have a viable shot at finishing top 3 at the MACs. Jordan was simply exceptional. We are very excited to see how our 1-2 punch leads us into championship season and how our pack responds behind them." The Dutchmen beat or tied seven teams that are ranked in the Metro, Mid-Atlantic, and Niagara regions. "This was a big-time meet where we had the opportunity to see how we stack up against many national and regionally-ranked programs. It was warm and the ground was a bit soft/muddy so the course ran a bit slower than we were anticipating, at least relative to the course we raced on two weeks ago."
