W. Tennis Falls To York In Epic MACC Championship

YORK, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Women's Tennis dropped a hard-fought 5-4 match to York College (Pa.) in the MAC Commonwealth championship match on Saturday afternoon.
 
In doubles action, the Dutchmen took two of the three matches to hold the 2-1 lead headed into singles play. The #2 doubles duo of Madison Poladian and Emily Wilczek won their matchup 8-4 before Meridyth Sanders and Zoe Birch won a back-and-forth match at #3 doubles. Sanders and Birch won 8-7 (9-7) in one of the most intense matches of the afternoon.
 
York would win four of the six singles matches to edge out LVC 5-4 for the overall win to claim the championship. LVC winners in singled included Jacquelyn McBride who won in three sets at #1 singles 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 and Meridyth Sanders who picked up a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 at #5 singles. Five of the six singles matches on the day went three sets in a championship match for the ages.
