How It Happened
GRANTHAM, Pa. – No. 5 Lebanon Valley's 2019 season came to an end with an 8-0 loss to No. 4 Widener in the sixth game of the MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament at Messiah College on Saturday afternoon, May 4. The Flying Dutchmen finished 2019 with a 19-22 overall record, while the Pride moved to 26-15 and advanced to play Albright in another elimination game.

In the top of the second, LVC threatened when Savannah Toth led off the frame with a single to left center. Later in the inning, Kristi Langhans singled up the middle, and Sarah Musselman followed it up with a single up the middle to load the bases, but the Dutchmen were unable to push a run across.

In the bottom of the fourth, Widener broke things open in a big way and scored five times to take a 5-0 advantage. The Pride's Jaworski continued to keep the Dutchmen's offense at bay from inside the circle, and then, in the bottom of the fifth, Widener was able to scored three more times to go up by eight runs and end the game due to the run rule.

Inside the Numbers

 - Jen Kaufman, Langhans, and Kylie Balthaser each registered a hit for the Dutchmen.
 - Lexi Windsor went 3.1 innings and allowed just an earned run and struck out one batter.
