From there, however, the Falcons answered back with five straight, spanning just under three minutes, to go up 7-2. During that significant run, Federowicz scored her second of the day, followed by goals from Jaclyn Little, Hathaway, and Veronica Venezia.

In the second, LVC kept the momentum from the first half as Venezia scored two straight unassisted goals at 28:41 and 23:40 to give the Dutchmen a narrow 8-7 lead. Messiah then rattled off four straight and led 11-8 with 18:28 remaining in the game. Venezia netted her third of the game at 15:30, followed by another goal from Hathaway at 13:08, to bring the Dutchmen to within one at 11-10, but the Falcons went up 12-10 with 4:15 to go, and LVC was unable to mount a comeback and was edged by two.
